This breakfast is so satisfying. I found a good bread in my health food store and decided to try it. I don’t eat bread very often but I fell in love with this one. It’s absolutely delicious. It has a strong taste as it’s made with complete flour but it’s very satisfying. It’s a bread made with organic whole wheat flour, millet and sea salt. No yeast or additives.
So besides eating this bread with my homemade soups, I made myself a healthy snack: Toasts with almond butter, seasonal apple and cinnamon. It was so delicious. Most people would eat it as a breakfast, as it’s very nourishing, but I’m home with a newborn nursing all day so I’m hungry all the time. So this was my morning snack. Oh that it was good. And without mentioning that I enjoyed these toasts with a good cup of dandelion coffee. What a treat for a cold fall day. Note to myself: Eat this again!
So I used a good quality bread, organic raw almond butter, fresh seasonal apples (I live in Canada so they are in abundance here!) and cinnamon. If you haven’t tried this already, you have to. It’s that good!
- Good quality bread, toasted
- Organic or raw almond butter
- Fresh apple, cored and sliced
- Toast your bread. Spread almond butter on top. Add sliced apples. Top with cinnamon. Enjoy with a cup of coffee or herbal coffee if you like.
