Have you ever tried the combination of rose and chocolate? It’s so delicious! I was eating a square of dark chocolate with rose and thought.. Oh! I have to make a smoothie out of these flavors! So I made a creamy, satisfying chocolate rose smoothie and added superfood maca for its lovely taste and health benefits.
Are you familiar with maca? Maca is a Peruvian superfood known to improve energy, endurance, libido and fertility, and balance hormones. I always add maca to my smoothies. Raw cacao powder is another incredible superfood. Did you know that it’s one of the best source of magnesium? Magnesium is an alkaline mineral that helps to alkalize and hydrate the body, promote regularity, as well as relax the body and mind. Most people are deficient in this mineral today. Raw cacao is also a great source of antioxidants, which help neutralize free-radicals in the body. To achieve the rose flavor, I used Cortas rose water.
This chocolate smoothie is delicious and super nutritious. It makes a wonderful snack. Cacao and maca provide energy so it makes a great afternoon pick me up. It’s vegan and soy-free.
