Equipping a kitchen is a must. It’s important to have good quality kitchen tools to ease food preparation and cooking, and also to enhance the quality of the food.
Here is a list of the most important kitchen tools to have in your kitchen. I gave you a few recommendations of products that I love. Feel free to click on the link if you’d like to see the price and what it looks like.
It’s really important to choose nontoxic cookware for safe and healthy home cooking. Cast iron, stainless steel, ceramic, and glass are the best and safest options. If you like the antique look, copper is another good option. Most copper cookware is now lined with a different metal such as stainless steel, which is safer. I recommend choosing from these materials.
Avoid aluminum and nonstick coatings such as Teflon. Aluminum can leach into whatever food it comes into contact with, and aluminum has been linked to Alzheimer’s disease. Anodized aluminum pans can also make the food that is cooked in it acidic. Teflon-coated pans release perfluorooctanoic acid, a likely carcinogen.
Quality Chef’s Knife
A chef’s knife is probably the most important tool you can have in your kitchen so invest in a quality one. My favorite brands include MAC, Global, Victorinox, and Wusthof.
A food processor will chop, dice, slice, mix, and more. They come in different sizes. I like the big one because I use it often and process large quantities, but you might want to get a smaller size if you mainly cook for yourself or if you don’t think you will use it very often.
This is my favorite kitchen appliance. I think that a blender is a must in a kitchen. You can do so many different things with it. There are obviously many choices on the market, but if you are going to use it regularly, it is a good idea to invest in a high-quality blender such as a Vitamix. These blenders are expensive but really worth it. You can also find a less expensive blender that will do a great job.
Juicers are different than blenders because the pulp is extracted. Juicing is very easy and so healthy. There are many different choices on the market, and finding the right juicer for you depends mainly on how often you will use it, for which purpose, and what you want to juice. Good brands include Breville, Omega, and Super Angel. The best juicer out there is the Norwalk juicer. The Norwalk juicer is perfect for people who have cancer, do big cleanses, or want to have more nutritious and healing juices. It’s also the most expensive one.
Breville Juicer (centrifugal juicer – great for beginner)
Breville Juicer (masticating juicer)
Omega Juicer (masticating juicer)
Super Angel Juicer (twin gear juicer)
Norwalk Juicer (hydraulic press – best juicer!)
A dehydrator will dehydrate your food so you can make your own dried fruits, kale chips, raw pizza crust, and bread, etc. My favorite dehydrator is the Excalibur because, contrary to other dehydrators, the temperature of the Excalibur fluctuates up and down to avoid the moisture trap inside – which is the perfect environment for yeast, mold, and bacteria growth. When the air temperature fluctuates up, the food’s surface moisture evaporates, and when the air temperature fluctuates down, the inner moisture moves to the drier surface. This keeps the food temperature low enough to keep the enzymes active, but the air temperature gets high enough to dry food and overcome yeast, mold, and spoilage.
