I was in the mood for something hydrating and a little sweet this afternoon so I thought about making a healthy smoothie. I had ripe pears on my counter so I thought making a smoothie using them. I also added organic dried figs, which were super moist, and thought it would pair well with the pears. Then I thought about adding chai tea, almond milk and cinnamon. And for a sweetener, well, I’m back to Canada after being in the U.S. for a few years so I’m on a phase on adding maple syrup to everything haha! Ohh boy that it was good. It was a really great combination of flavors. May be next time I’ll try without the banana and add an extra pear instead but it was really delicious.
This maple chai late smoothie is vegan and raw as I used fresh, homemade almond milk. I also used a good quality chai tea that I allowed to cooled down in the fridge. This smoothie really makes a wonderful snack, but if you are going to have it for breakfast, I suggest adding a little extra such as organic rolled oats or your favorite healthy protein powder to get more nourishment and have a more complete meal.
I hope you enjoy this smoothie as much as I did.
