If you love tahini like I do, you’ve gotta try this shake. It’s absolutely delicious. It’s made with banana, medjool dates, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and of course, tahini. I use a good quality tahini to get a really good flavor. I personally like organic, raw tahini, which can be found in most health food stores.
During the last few weeks of my pregnancy, I was eating a lot of dates, and since it can become a little tiring after a while, I came up with this tahini smoothie.
Did you know that eating six dates daily during the last 4 weeks of pregnancy significantly reduced the need for induction and augmentation of labor, and produce a more favorable delivery outcome? They also reduce the amount of postpartum bleeding. Dates are truly a nutritional powerhouse. That’s why I was eating so much of them.
This shake is vegan, gluten and soy-free. It’s a bit sweet, of course, but so healthy for the mama to be! Tahini is also a great source of assimilable calcium, which is very important too. There’s a lot of better ways to get calcium than in dairy products!
Hope you enjoy this shake, pregnant or not!:) xo
