Birth affirmations are positive phrases about birth that are used to help train your mind and body respond to birth in a positive and empowering way. They can help you gain self-confidence, and make you feel more prepared and ready for this new life changing experience that is about to happen in your life. Your body and mind are connected, thereby affirmations can help you.
Birth affirmations are said during pregnancy daily and if needed during labor. Pick your favorites and say them to yourself daily. You can say them out lout, in your mind, or you can write them. You can even print them, or make little cards with them and laminate them, if you like. Whatever feels good to you. The affirmations you choose need to resonate with you. Keep them nearby so you have access to them daily and if you like, have them with you during labor so you can read them again.
If you have a specific fear, choose an affirmation, or create one, that will help you with your fear. Focus on this one especially. And remember that you are not your fears nor your thoughts. Let them go. They aren’t serving you. Keep your heart open and be open for new possibilities.
Here are some powerful birth affirmations. Many comes from my HypnoBirthing classes. You can have more information about HypnoBirthing on their website.
