If you enjoy eating raw cookie dough, you will be pleased with this very healthy smoothie that contains a variety of superfoods like raw cacao nibs, chia seeds and maca, and that is creamy, tasty, comforting and taste pretty much (well, almost) like cookie dough. Well of course it’s not as thick and sweet but for a healthy smoothie, you will see that it gets pretty close. Let me know what you think.
So what’s in the smoothie?
Only good stuff. I used almond milk, although you could use coconut milk, a small banana, a tablespoon of creamy almond butter, some Medjool datess, chia seeds, raw cacao nibs (hello magnesium!), and maca. No added sugar as the banana and dates make it sweet enough. Did you know that dates supported digestion and blood pressure, helped regulating hormones, supported vision and strengthened bones? They are very nutritious. When I was pregnant, in the last few weeks of the trimester, I was eating what.. 6 dates at night? Lol. Apparently it helped with labor. Everything went pretty well for me..!
I like this smoothie as it’s raw, vegan, gluten and soy-free. It also makes a delicious snack or healthy dessert. It makes one serving but feel free to double to recipe to serve more. If you have kids at home, make sure they give it a try! It’s a good summer snack but can be enjoyed all year long if you like. I hope you and your family enjoy it.
