HOW TO MAINTAIN NORMAL CHOLESTEROL LEVELS

Do you have or know someone that has high cholesterol? The best ways to reduce cholesterol is not to reduce fat intake but to reduce sugar, caffeine and alcohol intake, as well as having a diet rich in dietary fibers (fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes). Exercising (ideally 3x/week) is also very helpful. High cholesterol is not a disease but a symptom of improper diet and lack of exercise.

You can prevent oxidation by being careful with the way you cook your food, by increasing your intake of plant foods to reduce oxidation and inflammation, and by having a healthy and varied diet. Antioxidants (found in many different types of food) are very important to reduce oxidation so make sure you get plenty of them. Turmeric is an amazing spice to reduce oxidation and inflammation, and coconut oil will help to improve cholesterol levels and reduce risk of heart disease.

If you eat animal food, stick to organic poultry, grass-fed meat, pastured-raised eggs, and organic, whole dairy products if you eat them. Stay away from lunch and cured meats, fried fish and seafood, and anything that is processed. Refined vegetable oils are also something you really want to avoid. Choose quality rather than quantity, and remember to stick to real, wholesome foods as much as possible, and stay away from what’s processed and highly refined.
