Pineapple Spinach Green Smoothie - Conscious Cooking

Pineapple Spinach Green Smoothie

This pineapple spinach green smoothie is refreshing and perfect to have on a warm spring or summer day. It makes a nutritious breakfast or snack. It has a gorgeous green color and it tastes absolutely delicious. It’s not bitter as I used spinach in it. The fruits, the pineapples and banana, also add a lovely touch of sweetness which is really nice. It’s not too sweet either, it’s just good.

Cilantro

I added the herb cilantro in it. This herb is detoxifying to the body. It actually helps to bind heavy metals from the body. If you are on a cleanse or want to help your body get rid of these metals, adding a lot of cilantro (and chlorella!) to your diet will help. If you are the type of person who absolutely cannot stand the taste of cilantro, do parsley instead.

My son enjoyed this smoothie. Your kids may enjoy it too. As I said, it’s not bitter so usually kids like it. You can even give it a fun name to make it more enjoyable for kids. Also, if they see you drinking it and enjoying it, they want to do the same. Kids learn by example too.

The smoothie is raw and vegan. It’s raw because the milk I used was homemade and made with hemp seeds, dates, vanilla and water. You can also use almond or coconut milk. It’s best to use homemade milk, especially if on a cleanse as you want to avoid processed nondairy milks. Otherwise, if that’s the only thing you have, use an unsweetened and preferably organic, nondairy milk but your smoothie won’t be raw but just vegan. It’s different but good too.

Homemade milks are so easy to make. In my cookbook actually I give like 6 milk recipes that are amazing and good for everyday life.
