Turmeric and pineapple are two powerful anti-inflammatories that help to reduce inflammation in the body so I have combined both to create this light and refreshing smoothie perfect for summer. It’s rich in superfoods and antioxidants, thereby very health-supportive. I used frozen pineapple to make it cold without adding ice and diluting flavours, but fresh could work if you have on hands and if you add ice in the blender. Let’s say you didn’t have fresh or frozen pineapple on hands but still wanted to do the smoothie, use frozen mangoes.
Coconut oil is also added to increase fat content and health benefits, and to add a little tropical touch to the smoothie. Don’t skip the lemon juice as it really balances out flavours. It really adds a nice touch.
I added honey as it’s a very healing food too. However, when using honey, you always want to get organic or a local honey. Even better, if you have raw honey then use it. It’s the best kind and because it can’t be heated, it’s perfect for smoothies. The honey, pineapple and turmeric all pair beautifully together.
Blend everything together in your high-speed blender and enjoy this delicious and nutritious colourful smoothie.
Cheers!
